Pneumatic Rocket Launcher

I designed and built this pneumatic rocket launcher for my son’s rocket themed birthday party. The launcher is constructed from PVC pipe and a sprinkler valve for the main unit. The base is constructed of pine, and designed to allow for angle adjustment of the main body. The ignition switch consists of a momentary button switch, wire, PVC tube and battery. Air pressure is supplied through vinyl tubing using a hand air pump. The kids made their own rockets, from paper. The more aerodynamic paper rockets were reaching an altitude of close to 400 feet. Everyone wore safety glasses - safety first!
