3D Printing

Created a CAD model and fabricated 3D printed parts for electronics enclosure for a commercial medical device. I first modeled the enclosure in solid plastic for shape and size. After dimensions were finalized, details were added in CAD and an FDM 3D print was made. The final design was printed using a Form 2 printer using Formlabs ‘Tough Resin’.
Designed original CAD/3D printing assignment while teaching Rochester Institute of Technology Industrial Design students. I developed this assignment for the Integrated CAD course. It consisted of reverse engineering a LEGO® brick, building it in CAD and 3D printing. The final printed result needed to fit manufactured LEGO® bricks, as well as having correctly made CAD files including configurations and assemblies of several sizes of bricks.
