Latch Test Fixture (Lifecycle Test Fixture)

I designed and built a fixture to test the durability of the polycarbonate latches on a plastic overmolded case. Considerations included applied force, angle, distance/travel and number of repetitions/cycles until latch failure. The test fixture was designed to simulate fingers or thumbs opening and closing the lid. It was fabricated with SLA 3D printed parts that I designed/printed, T-slot aluminium extrusions, and machined aluminum plate. I assembled and tested the fixture, and provided calibration instructions for the client. I also identified a weakness in the latch design during the process of analyzing the latch structure. This led to a design change in the case.
